Open Contracting: Disclosing Data, Engaging for Results

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This session focuses on the efforts to date in the construction and design of an Open Contracting data standard along with the architectural components needed to build out the Open Contracting data standard ecosystem.

The creation of a usable and flexible Open Contracting data standard will ensure that, as the Open Contracting movement gathers pace, partners across the world can gain access to ‘joined up data’, supported by an ecosystem of tools and services, rather than facing many silos of disjointed contracting data. These efforts are intended to complement other efforts by organizations such as the ‘stop secrets contracts’ campaign supported by the OKFN and others.

In this session, we will discuss:

- the initial draft of the open contracting standard;
- the design and governance model surrounding the standard;
- our findings on the journey so far;
- prototypes & ideas for tools;
- use cases; and
- exploring thoughts around getting broader community engagement.
