Building the open coalition - developing a wider community of open

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This session will be a follow-up to the one delivered at MozFest 2013 by Stevie Benton and John Cummings. As a result of the efforts of the many participants at that session funding was secured funding from Wikimedia UK to pay for a six-month project to expand and develop those links. Bekka Kahn was appointed to lead the project and by the time of the festival there will be much progress to report on.

Elliott Bledsoe from Australia has been strongly making the case for greater participation and collaboration across the open space and he will be joining with Bekka and John to facilitate the session.

It will look at the distance travelled so far by the Open Coalition and the progress made, while explaining the benefits and opportunities that greater open space collaboration will bring. It will explain what the coalition is, its aims and objectives and the many, varied ways that you can get involved. It will be an interactive session where you'll be encouraged to get involved in making as well as conversation. You'll be invited to participate in the work of the coalition on an ongoing basis and have a say in its development and outcomes.

Elliott, Bekka and John are looking forward to working with you!
